Privacy Policy

When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication credentials via Supabase Auth. Google Sign-In users share their Google profile information.

Images you upload for caption generation are processed temporarily in-memory, converted to base64, and sent to our AI providers (OpenRouter API) for analysis. Images are NOT stored on our servers.

Captions generated by AI are saved to your account in our Supabase database so you can access your history.

We collect basic usage analytics including caption generation counts, preferred styles, and language preferences to improve the service.

We may collect device type, operating system, and app version for debugging and compatibility purposes.

We do NOT collect GPS location data. We may collect approximate location based on IP address for compliance and security purposes only.

Your images are sent to OpenRouter AI vision models for analysis. The AI generates a text description of the image content.

Based on the image description, AI generates styled captions (funny, emotional, stylish, inspirational, romantic) in your chosen language (from over 100 supported languages).

When you select a non-English language, captions are translated using AI translation models.

Your images and captions are NOT used to train AI models. They are processed in real-time and not retained by AI providers beyond the API request lifecycle.

Your account data and caption history are stored securely in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security (RLS) policies ensuring only you can access your data.

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. Authentication tokens are securely managed by Supabase Auth.

App preferences (notification settings, language) are stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences and Hive.

Images are processed in-memory only. They are never written to disk on our servers or stored in our database.

Account data is retained indefinitely while your account is active. Upon account deletion, all data is permanently removed within 30 days. Captions remain until manually deleted by the user.

We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties. We only share data with service providers necessary for app functionality as described above.

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect your device advertising ID, location approximation, and usage patterns to serve personalized ads.

We display rewarded ads that users can choose to watch for additional features. Ads do not interfere with core app functionality and are shown only upon user interaction.

You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ad Settings: https://adssettings.google.com. Opting out may still show ads, but they will be less relevant.

We use anonymous analytics to improve app performance and user experience. Analytics data does not include personal identifiers.

You can view all your data through the app, including your caption history, profile information, and usage statistics at any time.

You can delete individual captions from your history. To delete your entire account and all associated data, use the in-app Delete Account feature (Profile \u2192 Delete Account) or visit https://ai-caption-studio.anstudios.site/account-deletion. All data is permanently removed upon deletion.

You can export your caption history by copying individual captions or using the export feature in settings. For complete data export, contact support.

You can disable notifications, personalized ads, and data collection for analytics at any time from Profile settings.

If you are in the EU, you have the right to: access your data, rectify inaccurate data, erase your data, restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing. Contact support to exercise these rights.

California residents have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of data sale (we do not sell data). Contact support to exercise these rights.

AI Caption Studio is a general audience productivity tool. It is not specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it.

Our app does not have friend systems, messaging, comments, or any direct communication between users. External sharing simply opens your device's share sheet to send captions to other apps.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise their children's internet use. Since captions may be shared to external social media platforms, parental guidance is recommended for younger users.
